What do you expect when you visit a farm?
Maybe fields with crops, or pastures with cattle, pigs, chicken and a picturesque farmer on a tractor. I visited a farm in Washington state recently. Along the shores of the Elwa River on the Olympic Penisula the Wild Edge Farm crew grows crops and raises animals in a biological and sustainable way. They write on their website that they “are a regenerative family farm west of Port Angeles offering delicious, natural meat and fresh produce for your family’s health and the life of our community.”
What you might not expect!
Every once in a while during the summer month a local church gathers on their property. They, as they say, are here to get their hands dirty. They do farm work, they pray, and on that particular day, they glorified God by making sauerkraut. In an increasingly secular world this is a peculiar way of being church. Tune in and listen to their voices to find out what Noah’s ark has to do with freezer pickles.
